FAQs

What Is Sound by Bose?

Sound by Bose technology brings premium Bose-licensed audio technologies to Crusher 1080 ANC. This includes Bose QuietControl Active Noise Canceling, Bose TrueSpatial audio, Bose WaveForm Audio Engine, and Bose SpeechClarity Voice Pickup Technology. Together, these technologies deliver clear, natural sound, powerful noise canceling, immersive audio, and crystal-clear calls while preserving the unique Crusher Bass experience.

What Is Crusher Bass?

Crusher Bass is Skullcandy's patented sensory bass technology that lets you feel low frequencies in addition to hearing them. Unlike traditional headphones, Crusher uses dedicated bass drivers to create a physical bass sensation that adds impact and immersion to music, movies, and games. Use the Crusher wheel or Skullcandy App to adjust the intensity from subtle enhancement to mind-bending bass.

What Is Personal Sound?

Personal Sound by Mimi is advanced sound personalization technology built directly into compatible Skullcandy headphones. Mimi is a global leader in sound personalization technology for consumer audio devices. The technology adapts audio to your specific hearing profile, not a generic preset. The result: Clearer detail, restored audio frequencies you may be missing, safer listening over time and a more immersive experience.

What Gives Crusher 1080 ANC Headphones Crystal Clear Audio?

Crusher 1080 ANC features the Bose WaveForm Audio Engine, which helps keep sound full, balanced, and smooth at any volume. WaveForm automatically optimizes audio performance so bass stays powerful, vocals stay clear, and distortion stays out of the mix, whether you're listening quietly or turning it up.

What Gives Crusher 1080 ANC Headphones Superior Noise Canceling?

Crusher 1080 ANC features Bose QuietControl Active Noise Canceling technology. Using six microphones and advanced adaptive processing, QuietControl reduces distractions and unwanted noise for a calm, focused listening experience. It's designed and validated for real-world environments, helping you stay immersed in your music, movies, and podcasts wherever you are.

What Gives Crusher 1080 ANC Headphones Immersive Audio?

Crusher 1080 ANC uses Bose's TrueSpatial spatial audio technology, making you feel like you're sitting in the middle of an epic surround sound system. That means music, games, and movies have isolated sounds that come from specific places, like footsteps from behind or an explosion to your left. The result is an immersive 3D effect that's like nothing else.

How Do I Turn Crusher Bass On/Off for Crusher 1080 ANC?

You can adjust Crusher Bass using the Crusher wheel located on the earcup or through the Skullcandy App. Turn the wheel or move the Crusher control in the app to increase or decrease the bass intensity. To turn Crusher Bass off completely, set the control to its lowest level.

How Do I Turn Active Noise Canceling (ANC) On/Off for Crusher 1080 ANC?

You can control Bose QuietControl modes through the Skullcandy App or using the customizable button controls on your headphones.

By default:
• Press the ANC button up to enable Quiet Mode (ANC On)
• Press the ANC button down once to turn ANC Off
• Press the ANC button down again to enable Aware Mode (Transparency)

You can also switch between Quiet, Aware, and Off modes directly in the Skullcandy App.

I have 3 pairs of

"I have 3 pairs of crusher headphones, 2 standard and 1 ANC and these are a bit different. The button combination is easier to use, no need to allocate special taps as everything is on the 1 button for volume up and down, pause, play, previous and next etc, what a great idea. The boost slider is also different. Slight issue with the automatic use detection but this can be fixed by turning off the setting until a software patch is issued. Overall they really are a comfy, spacial sound set of headphones with some nice upgrades on the ANC 2."

The price is right

"I’ve been really impressed with the Skullcandy Crusher 1080 ANC. The sound is clear, the adjustable bass is powerful without being overwhelming, and the noise cancellation works great in busy environments. They’re also very comfortable to wear for long periods, and the battery life is excellent. Overall, they’re a fantastic pair of headphones and well worth the investment."

They are good but underwhelming.

"They are good but underwhelming. The anc is definitely an improvement and better than the anc 2 but not up to the standard I was expecting when hearing they collabed with bose. The music quality i think is probably the best I've heard with the crusher line but the bass is underwhelming to say the least like they sacrificed it for sound quality. All in all I think they managed to balance it as best they could but they need to increase the bass to what it was like with the evos or the original first crusher that ear ringing bass."

"The sound is not up to the mark at all. It just seems like listening to a normal non branded headsets. My normal sony headphones sound better than this. Really disappointed despite the fact it is collabed with Bose. Money WASTED !!"

Great headphones

"Great headphones but the app is misbehaving a bit with the updates for them, hopefully patched soon. Other than that the quality is amazing ans super comfortable except a "suction" feeling for the noise canceling that takes a little time to get used to"

Stephan T. (5/5)

"These headphones are great if you are a music nerd and really want to feel immersed in the sound. I prefer the anc2 for the bass but the spatial system makes up for it. Tyler the Creator is a good artist to test the new headphones. Some reason mine wont connect to app but im not too bothered about that."

Skye (5/5)

"These headphones are a nice balance of Audio Quality & Bass. Definetly worth purchasing if you love your sound, sound."

"Skullcandy 1080 ANC (2026) 1 Week Review The Pros: Incredible Sound: Great studio sound out of the box, and amazing "stage" vibe with Dolby Atmos that's from my Motorola Edge 60 Neo. Wild Bass Dial: Genuinely insane performance across all genres from Metal to Pop. Piercing Friendly: Super comfy earcups that don’t hurt my ear piercings at all. Excellent ANC: Way better than Hesh ANC, blocking noise perfectly without losing audio quality. Things to Note: Wear Detect & LE Audio: Both can be a bit glitchy, so I prefer keeping them turned off. Weight & Stay Aware: They are slightly heavy and have a minor bass echo when walking. Verdict: Highly recommend for an upgrade! (Pro-tip: update Personal Sound if audio feels off). Next up, I'll be testing the auxiliary sound for movies and games!"

Great overall sound stage with great bass - let them burn in before drawing to any conclusions!!!

"Just over 2 weeks of owning these cans and guess what, they've grown on me on a daily basis. Lovely finished headphones that cover your ears and engulf you in a premium sound stage. Heavier than the Anc2 and Evo's and much bigger looking. Feel nice and premium'ish. The only thing not plastic is the over head bridge of the frame which is metal. Now, the sound!!! The most important thing about these headphones that most folks are drawn to is the BASS. Given I've had all of the Crusher range over the years they've been out, these, straight out of the box, are not as powerful as the Anc2 and Evo's in terms of bass stage. It was one of the reasons I loved those cans whereby once you've listened to music and take the headphones off, you're left with a strong ringing in the ears and the look of this gormless chap that looks like he's been at a rave all night. The 1080's are more controlled bass with not as much intense vibration as the previous cans. One thing I have noted is burn in time. I've been letting them run on a daily basis in the background with heavy Jungle, Dub Roots and UK Garage and Grime beats play through them. This seems to be opening up the drivers and the bass vibrations are getting stronger and stronger day by day. In terms of the overall sound stage - absolutely fantastic. Paired with the SkullCandy app, as well as having the physical bass dial, the app gives you the Personal Sound option where you compile a hearing test to let the app determine how you hear music, you have 3 preset equaliser modes along with a custom 5 band equaliser and you also have Bose's TrueSpatial sound stage setting of which there are three. Currently, I have the bass dial at about 3/4 of the way up, the Personal Sound set on with full immersion, the 5 band equaliser custom set and Bose's TrueSpatial setting at "Still". For me and in my opinion, these are by far the best sounding Crushers by a country mile in terms of overall sound stage. It's all about preference but I think you need patience and burn in time for these to truly sound unbelievable. I'm completely sold on them and can say the pairing of SkullCandy and Bose was an amazing call. Carry out your firmware updates upon receiving and as mentioned, like the previous models, they won't have that immediate impact in terms of bass straight out of the box until you've burned them in. I will say that the app is slightly glitchy at the moment for me as some settings default to standard when I reconnect the headphones to the phone - potentially something SkullCandy will be working on hopefully. FYI connected to Samsung S26 Ultra with Spotify as music source set at lossless. Purchased directly from SkullCandy."
