Put down the headphones and step away from the rubbish bin — those old electronics can be reused or recycled. At Skullcandy, we’re doing our best to reduce waste, and we appreciate you taking the time to learn about recycling your old headphones or earbuds. Recycling is easy — we’ve listed a few options below.

1. LOCAL DONATION CENTRES

The best way to dispose of your unwanted (but still fully functional) electronics is to give them to someone who can use them but may not be able to buy them new. Recycle Rebuild, StudentReach or the British Heart Foundation would love to take your old headphones for someone in need.

2. RETAILERS

Several retailers in the UK host electronics recycling programs. Follow the links below to find nearby stores that can handle your headphones and other electronics.

3. YOUR LOCAL RECYCLING CENTRE

You can’t just toss your electronics in the recycle bin with your cardboard and aluminium cans, but there’s probably a recycling center near you. These are normally broken up into different areas per type of recycled materials, and most have an area for electronics. Follow this link to find a recycling center near you.

For more information about how and where to donate or recycle your unwanted electronics, visit the Electronics Donation and Recycling page at gov.uk.
